This vision from H.E. Anura Kumara Dissanayake, President of Sri Lanka, sits at the heart of the Sri Lanka Licensing Round 2026 (SL2026-01).

With Sri Lanka focused on strengthening the foundations of its economy, restoring confidence and creating new opportunities for growth, the responsible development of its offshore resources presents a significant opportunity to attract international investment and expertise.

SL2026-01 offers four offshore exploration blocks covering almost 34,000 km² in the Mannar Basin to qualified international energy companies.

The round provides explorers with the opportunity to evaluate acreage within Sri Lanka’s most established offshore petroleum basin, building on previous exploration activity and the presence of a working petroleum system.

For Sri Lanka, this is about more than exploration. It is about unlocking national resources responsibly, attracting international investment and creating long-term value for future generations.
